The Best YETI Coolers, Mugs and Bottles for Winter Adventures

The Best YETI Coolers, Mugs and Bottles for Winter Adventures

The darker days and colder nights can drive us indoors, but with the right kit,
there’s really no reason to slow down your outdoor adventures. Most people know YETI for its legendary ability to keep things cold. But here’s the secret: great insulation works both ways. Winter is the perfect time to get creative with YETI coolers, mugs and bottles, keeping food hot, gear dry and morale high when the temperature drops.

Here are our favourite ways to use YETI gear for winter adventures in Devon and across the UK.

Resting Meat in a YETI Roadie or Tundra 45

If you’ve gone to the effort of slow-cooking a proper joint of meat, pork shoulder, brisket or lamb (most likely on your trusty Big Green Egg) resting it properly is non-negotiable. Resting allows moisture to redistribute, keeping everything tender, juicy and worth waiting for.

A YETI Tundra 45 or a Roadie happens to be just about perfect for the job.
Wrap your meat in baking paper, then a clean towel, and place it inside the cooler. For best results, preheat your YETI by pouring in hot water first (then empty it). This creates a warm, steamy environment that helps retain heat. Done right, a preheated YETI can comfortably hold meat at around 140°F / 60°C for 10 hours or more.

The bonus? No oven running all day and no stress when transporting your prized brisket to a mate’s house or down to the coast.

Wild Winter Hikes with YETI Rambler Travel Bottles

There’s something wonderfully primal about winter hikes, strong westerlies, sea spray in your face and lungs full of cold air. Bracing, yes. But also thirsty work.
Hot drinks on winter walks are essential, and the YETI Rambler Travel bottle range. Made for exactly this. Available in 3 different sizes, they're tapered at the base to fit in the car cup holder on the way to the cliff path. Leakproof, meaning you can pop them into a backpack with no fear of sillage. They are tough and designed to keep drinks hot for hours, whether you’re on the coast path or heading inland.

Our drink of choice? A rum hot chocolate, obviously. (Purely for warmth.)

Campfire Evenings with Classic YETI Rambler Mugs

Few things beat thawing frozen fingers around a crackling winter campfire. Add a hot drink and suddenly everything feels far more civilised. The YETI Rambler mugs are cold-weather classics. The 14oz is the sweet spot, plenty of tea, coffee or something stronger, without endless refills. Tough, heat-retaining and built to cope with being knocked about when gloves are on and attention is elsewhere.

Winter Fishing with the YETI LoadOut GoBox 1

The colder months are prime time for flounder in the Salcombe estuary, and winter fishing calls for kit that can handle mud, spray and general chaos.

The YETI LoadOut GoBox 1 has earned its place in our setup. Completely waterproof and mudproof, it’s ideal for keeping lures, spare parts and your phone protected when conditions aren’t exactly polite.
Small, mighty and tougher than it looks.

Warm Winter Lunches with YETI Food Storage & Lunch Boxes

Whether you’re stuck in the office or out doing muddy moorings on the estuary, winter demands a proper lunch. The YETI Food Storage Jar keeps soups steaming, pasta warm and stews hearty for hours. There’s something deeply satisfying about hot food when everyone else is chewing on a cold sandwich.

For sandwiches, the YETI Daytrip Lunch Box keeps bacon sarnies toasty just as well as it keeps food cold — perfect for winter beach days and family adventures.

Keep Your Kit Dry with the YETI Cayo Backpack 15L

Until it’s truly stormy, we keep the dinghy on the water for quick dashes into Salcombe for fresh bread from The Bakehouse or meat from Colemans. These trips are rarely dry and sometimes downright soggy.

YETI Cayo 15L

The YETI Cayo Backpack 15L is a lifesaver. Waterproof, tough and surprisingly comfortable, it keeps bread crusty, sausages dry and spare layers warm. It’s equally at home on winter walks, paddle trips or for those brave enough to head out for a cold-weather SUP.

Winter Is No Reason to Slow Down

YETI gear isn’t just for summer barbecues and beach days. In many ways, winter is when it really proves its worth, keeping heat in, water out and adventures ticking along no matter what the forecast throws at you.

Layer up, pack smart and get out there. Winter doesn’t mean the fun stops, it just means better kit matters more.

See you out there.
