Welcome to Stones Boatyard
For almost 100 years, the Stone family have been building and restoring wooden boats on the Salcombe Estuary. With nautical blood running through our veins, generation after generation of Stone men and women have been inextricably drawn to the ocean and a life of craft and adventure.
In 2021 we combined our passion for adventure with YETI's unrivalled range of outdoor gear and became the UK's largest approved YETI stockist.
Wooden Boat Specialists
We provide a comprehensive storage and maintenance, and launch and recovery service for all wooden boats, including the famous Salcombe Yawl.
Stones Boatyard was established on the banks of the Salcombe Estuary in 1938. Opened by James Stone, the yard was first used to build the now famous Salcombe Yawls.
Over the years the Stone family built a reputation for constructing fast, well-made wooden racing boats. In 2004, Tristan Stone built a brand new boatyard to provide undercover boat storage in Salcombe, as well as space dedicated to the care and maintenance of wooden boats.
Just above the beautiful Salcombe estuary, the yard is ideally situated to provide a total management service for all wooden boats.
