The Tundra 45 fits a 4lb and 2lb Ice Block or three 2lb Ice Blocks perfectly in the base. Add these to enhance the thermal retention of the cooler.

Is the YETI Tundra 45 the right size for me?

The Tundra 45 is a strong all-purpose hard cooler for overnight camping food for four people or drinks for a day on the water. It fits 54 cans only, or 16.8 kg of ice only, and has a 35.6 litre capacity. It is a good middle size if you want serious cooling without stepping up to a larger, heavier box.

How portable is the YETI Tundra 45?

It is portable, but it is not a lightweight grab-and-go cool bag. Empty weight is 10.3 kg, so once full of food, drinks and ice it is best lifted with two hands or by two people. The rope handles help, while the non-slip feet and tie-down slots make it practical for a boat, trailer or car boot.

Will the Tundra 45 keep food and drinks cold?

Yes, it is built for serious cold retention, with thick insulated walls, pressure-injected polyurethane insulation, a close-fitting lid system and a freezer-quality gasket. For best results, pre-chill the contents, use plenty of good ice or YETI Ice blocks, keep the lid closed where possible and avoid leaving the cooler in direct sun for longer than needed.

What comes with the Tundra 45 Cooler?

The Tundra 45 includes one removable dry goods basket, which is useful for keeping sandwiches, snacks or other items above the ice and meltwater.

How do I clean and drain the Tundra 45?

For normal cleaning, use warm water and mild washing-up liquid after each trip, especially if it has held bait, fish, meat or loose food. For heavier cleaning, a 6:1 warm water and bleach solution can be used with a sponge or mildly abrasive cloth.
